Wuhan, China, October, 2023- In partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, China Science and Technology Exchange Center, Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and Climate Education Network, Baseet organized Climate Education Initiative events in the 2023 Belt and Road International Science Popularization Week in China to communicate climate science and engage thousands of students, youth, and the public to take action on climate change and change their environmental attitudes.

Belt and Road International Science Week witnessed attendance of several governmental officials, world’s top experts and scholars in the fields of science popularization, and representatives of international organizations, to exchange experiences, while World leaders were gathering and cooperating in Beijing marking the 10th anniversary of its Belt and Road Initiative.
During the Belt and Road International Science Communication Conference, Baseet, the representative of The United Arab Emirates, shared their case study of organizing Climate Education Initiative events to communicate climate science with the public and engage over 900K participants to take action towards the climate crises in 15 countries. Furthermore, Baseet organized innovative Climate Education Initiative events that attracted over 20,000 visitors varying from Students, youth and the public

Stories and Magic Inspire People to DISCOVER!
Magic of science engaging the public with Climate action
Baseet Climate Science Shows inspired the attendees to discover the science behind climate through a variety of exciting and fun experiments performed on the stage by world-class science communicators. Attendees also discovered the “Story of Power”, a short film telling the story of energy evolution from using fire, to discovering oil and fuel, to finally resorting to clean and solar energy to protect our planet.
Edutainment activities encourage people to LEARN!
Baseet introduced participants to the Time Machine Exhibition where students, youth and the public travel between ages in an exciting adventure to explore innovations from each age; from the Industrial Revolution Age discoveries to the Artificial Intelligence Age. Baseet Time Machine Exhibition also included a variety of interactive and engaging hands-on workshops. Furthermore, Baseet accompanied participants on VR journeys through the ages to discover the impact of climate change on the planet over the ages and how to take action to save earth, reduce consumption of energy, and change their environmental attitudes.
TAKE ACTION; Build a sustainable city!
Finally, participants were to make strategic and informed decisions about how to allocate resources and manage the impact of their environmental choices through the Green Mayor game innovated by Baseet and Climate Education Network.
“Future Leaders” building a sustainable city with Green Mayor game innovated by Baseet and Climate Education Network
Green Mayor is a fun and interactive sustainability game where youth leaders build a sustainable city. Future leaders must balance economic, environmental, and social factors as they execute projects and grow their cities.
At last, participants received “Save Money, Save Earth” manuals including many sustainable practices to increase our environmental impact and save money in the long run. Attendees also played and took pictures with Mr. Alien, their beloved fictional character who came from space to celebrate the Climate Education Initiative and take photos with the participants.
