Baseet joins voices with the Cambodian Government and NGOs to engage the public with Climate Action.
March 2023- Wildlife Alliance Baseet Tour unites the efforts of the Cambodian Government, Indian Government, Non-governmental organizations, and Educational organizations to engage the public with Climate Action, raise awareness of forests’ importance to our ecosystem and promote STEAM education.
The Tour highlighted and celebrated the return of tigers to the Cambodian forests, following the Indian government’s agreement with Cambodia to reintroduce tigers after years of their extinction, and inspiring the people to stop snaring and bushmeat.
Baseet roamed a number of Cambodian cities and forests including; O’Som, Koh Kong, Thma Bang and the capital Phnom Penh. More than 20000 citizens, villagers and children of Cambodia participated in Wildlife Alliance Baseet Tour.
The tour witnessed big participation of Cambodian VIPs and Governmental figures such as; Sokkheng Novin, Under-secretary of State of Government, H. E. Imran Hassan Deputy Mayor of Phnom Penh, H.E. Say Socheat, Deputy Provincial Governor of Pursat, H.E. Cheng Lai, Deputy Provincial Governor of Pursat, Lok Chunmeav Mithona Puhuthorng, Governor of Koh Kong Province.
Wildlife Alliance Baseet Tour accompanied the participants in a journey through the ages to explore humanity’s contributions and innovations in each age, and to discover the harmful behaviors that have affected our climate and wildlife over the years.
Participants were also introduced to forests’ importance and role in the water cycle, explored ways to protect them, and celebrated the reintroduction of tigers to the forests of Cambodia while emphasizing the importance of stop snaring and bushmeat.
