Cairo, Egypt- The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Al Alfi Foundation for Human and Social Development, and Baseet launch “The Science Festival” to tour Egyptian schools, engaging thousands of Egyptian students with a new learning journey through STEM fields and promoting their innovation and creativity. “The Science Festival” takes place in a different school each day, and accompanies school students in an exciting edutainment adventure to spark their interest and curiosity in science and technology.
The “Science Festival” starts by setting up the gates of the Time Machine Exhibition in the playground, representing different eras of humans’ learning journey on earth, and the Science Theatre, presenting STEM public lectures and Baseet Science Show. First, groups of students begin to travel between ages to explore innovations and tools from each age through a variety of fun and interactive STEM workshops and project-based learning activities.
In “The Age of Fire Discovery” students learn how old civilizations calculated time with the sundial, created their own “Google Maps” through the stars’ positions in the sky, and discovered the dyes. They also try to write their names in the Egyptian Hieroglyphs, one of the oldest writing systems in history.

Next, students explore the electricity discovery in “The Age of Industrial Revolution” by making electric circuits. They delve into understanding the high-voltage phenomena and wireless electricity and get inspired by controlling their bodies by electrical signals.
Following, students explore advanced technologies in “The Artificial Intelligence Age” with an exciting AR journey between the planets, and interact with an AI-driven robot, capable of identifying students’ faces, names, and interests.

Finally, all students gather at the school playground to witness Baseet Magical Science Show presented by world-class science communicators, featuring a variety of exciting and breathtaking scientific experiments to inspire students with the magic of science and actively engage them with what they learn.
By the end of the day, students played and took pictures with Mr. Alien, a fictional character that travels between ages, whom they loved dearly. The day also provided a chance for the teachers and educational leaders to discover new ways and techniques to engage students with science and technology.
